Hazel “Jewel” Ray, 75, of Clinton, died Thursday, March 8, 2018 at 4:50 pm at her residence with her family by her side.
She was born on April 23, 1942, in Letona, Ark. To Homer and Ruby Dunham.
“Jewel” resided in Clinton since 1979 with her family and was a devoted wife and mother. She enjoyed singing, going to festivals, antiques, and fishing.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Kathy Christensen and a brother, Wayne Durham.
Survivors include her husband of 44 years, William Ray of Clinton; Sherri Morris of Indianapolis, IN.; Cindy Pugh (Kenneth Denson) of Paris, Ill; Pete Morris of Clinton; and Bekki Garthwaite (JT Garthwaite) of Terre Haute; one brother, Ed Rickard of Magnolia, Ark; 12 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great-grandchild.
Visitation will be held at Frist Funeral Home in Clinton, IN on Tuesday, March 13 from 12 to 2 pm. Funeral services will follow at the funeral home at 2 pm with Rev. Paul Le Clerq officiating. Burial will be at Highland Lawn Cemetery in Terre Haute, IN.
