Oscar “Jim” Doty, 84, Of Montezuma, died peacefully in his home, Thursday, July 20, 2017. He was born May 26, 1933, in Gonzales, California and was the son of Martha (Carpenter) and Carol Doty. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Marjorie Anne Doty.
Jim was a U.S. Marine Veteran, serving in the Korean War. He was retired from Superior Hardwoods in Montezuma and the Rockville IGA.
Other survivors include daughter Nancy (Jim) Oloizia of California; daughter Jamie (Karl) Brehmer of Georgia; son, Mark Doty, of California; granddaughters Catherine and Brianna Oloizia of California; grandson Scott (Christy) Brehmer of Georgia, and granddaughter Karen (Matt) Burkett of Michigan. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins as well as many close friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother Fred Doty.
He was a member of the Montezuma Fish & Game Club, the Rockville American Legion, and the Rockville and Clinton VFW’s.
Brown-Mack Funeral Home of Montezuma is in charge of cremation. There will be no services. The family asks that any donations be made to the American Cancer Society.
